A COURTROOM has been closed due to water damage caused by recent spells of heavy rain and strong wind.

Room two of Salisbury Crown Court has been out of action this week after rain seeped through the ceiling.

Cases which were due to be heard in the courtroom have been moved to alternative sites.

A spokesperson for His Majesty's Court and Tribunals Service confirmed that no cases had to be adjourned as a result of the damage.

They said: “Salisbury Crown Court has temporarily closed one courtroom due to water damage caused by recent weather.

“No cases have been adjourned and they are being heard at alternative sites nearby while we work to address the damage."

The courtroom is expected to re-open next week.
