Girls compete in cricket tournament
IT was a double triumph for South Wilts Grammar School on Friday as they won both the under-13s and the under-15s sections at the Salisbury District Girls' Inter-Cricket competition.
The festival involved 11 teams from three schools, South Wilts, St Edmund's and Stonehenge, with the under-15s event being held for the first time this year.
The event is supported by Salisbury District Council, the Wiltshire Cricket Board and South Wilts Cricket Club.
The council's sports and community officer, Karlene Jammeh, said: "Over the years, the standard at this annual festival has increased immeasurably and this year was no exception.
"I think the expansion of the competition to include a tournament for the under 15s has made this year's festival the best ever."
