A PUB has entered an application to open for an extra hour every day to give people a chance to "unwind" after music events.
The Avon Brewery, at 75 Castle Street, will be allowed to serve customers until 2am on Saturday and Sunday mornings if Wiltshire Council approves the application.
Landlord Rob Wood is also seeking permission for music until 1am from Monday to Thursday and until midnight on Sundays.
Mr Wood, who owns several city centre pubs, said the Avon Brewery has a "short finish" at the moment, adding: "We have just found that our licence is a bit short at the moment extension of an hour gives people a chance to have a drink after music events."

Live music currently finishes at 11pm so the extension would allow people a chance to "unwind for a bit longer", Mr Wood explained.
"It's what people have been asking for."
The venue hosts Salisbury Live events and larger gigs which fundraise for the Thom Belk Foundation monthly.
Mr Wood anticipates the extended hours will help trade at the pub, he said: "It is a really positive thing and hopefully it brings more people to that side of town."
The application will be discussed by Salisbury City Council's Planning and Development Committee at the Guildhall from 6.30pm on Monday, April 22.
Any written representations must be made to Wiltshire Council before April 30.
