A Salisbury wine shop has been nominated for ‘Best Wine and Beer Specialists’ by The Muddy Stilettos.

The Artisan Wine & Spirit Co is an independently owned specialist wine, spirit and beer shop in the heart of Salisbury.

The shop stock products that can’t be found in the supermarkets, with their wines being individually tasted and hand selected.

After the shop opened in the beginning of May 2021 having spent much of lockdown planning, they are more than pleased to have created a great impression with the locals of Salisbury.

Co-Owner, Elizabeth Coombes, 51 from Salisbury said: “We’re so delighted to have been nominated for Muddy Stilettos and, although we have no idea who might have nominated us in the first place, it means so much to be recognised by the people of Salisbury.

"This is our home city, we love it and to know that other people appreciate our little business is the best feeling.”

Elizabeth added: “The local community and regular customers are a massive part of our business. Since the day we opened we have worked really hard at collaborating with other independents in the city and have built up a really strong network of like-minded business friends. Over the last three years we have developed such a strong and loyal customer base and many of them have become firm friends.

“We had a group of weekend visitors to Salisbury enjoying a bottle of wine in our sunny window seats last weekend and they commented on how well we knew all our customers, by name and their tastes. It made me realise how loyal and friendly our customers are.”

The Artisan Wine & Spirit Co has picked up a number of national awards in their past and hope they can add The Muddy Stiletto Award to their tally in July.

She added: “It feels great to be one of the finalists of these awards. We’re up against some stiff competition but it’s so nice to see that the local community has our back. If we can win this then we’ll be a very happy Salisbury independent indeed!”

“Positive recognition can only help a business. Salisbury has had some tough times over the last few years but the city is thriving now. The fact that there are 12 Muddy Stilettos finalists in this little city alone proves that so, if a bunch of us can win, that’s amazing for Salisbury.”
